Iconic trad-fusion band KÍLA return with Raise The Road, a bombastic album of their latest songs and tunes featuring colaborations with an 8-piece brass band, arranged by trombonist Paul Frost, The album is set for digital release on Friday 9th May, with CD release to follow on Friday 30th May 2025.

Kíla are known for their exhilarating live performances. The new album Raise The Road, featuring the Paul Frost brass band, is not disimilar to a live Kíla performance. Paul's arrangements have fused funk, mambo and New Orleans jazz with Kíla's contemorary compositions. This addition to Kila's already outstanding repertoire will have listeners electrified by the fusion of the brass band's funky blasts and Kíla's exhilarating rhythmic sound.

Speaking about the new album Kíla founding member Rónán O’ Snodaigh said: "This album breaks new ground, not only for Kíla, but for trad in general."

Guitarist and Raise The Road co-producer Brian Hogan said: "The brass adds this depth and enormity to the sound.”

With a career spanning over five decades, 20 releases, and collaborations with esteemed musicians such as U2, Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Sinead O’ Connor, The Dubliners, Shane MacGowan, Glen Hansard and Dónal Lunny, the new album reflects the imagination, reinvention and the creative genius that Kíla are known for. Recent performances of this material have had audiences enthralled, enchanted and dancing with abandon.
